Depths are informational
Displayed depths may not reflect current water levels, tides, shoaling, dredging, submerged hazards, survey conditions, or other changes. Do not use displayed depth alone to determine vessel clearance.
Outside U.S. detailed coverage, depth uses GEBCO overview bathymetry: not chart-grade. U.S. waters may show ENC / CUDEM detail where available.
Suggested routes require operator verification
BoatAtlas routes are planning aids. Routes may contain inaccurate or incomplete information about depth, hazards, obstructions, restricted areas, bridges, currents, water levels, or other conditions.
Verify the entire route using appropriate current navigational information before departure and continue to evaluate actual conditions while underway.
You remain responsible for navigation and safe vessel operation.
Live guidance is an aid only
BoatAtlas navigation guidance uses your device GPS and a suggested route as a planning and situational-awareness aid. It is not a substitute for official charts, navigational equipment, a proper lookout, or your judgment as vessel operator.
Location can be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable. Routes and guidance may omit hazards, depth, restrictions, or changing conditions. You assume the risk of relying on this information and remain responsible for safe navigation and vessel operation.
Guidance runs only while this BoatAtlas tab stays open in your browser with location permission. If you close the tab, switch away, lock the screen, or lose GPS, guidance and any track recording can pause or stop. BoatAtlas is not an emergency service.
Verify your plan with appropriate current navigational information before departure, and continue to evaluate actual conditions while underway.
Use your location
BoatAtlas uses your location to show your position, speed, heading, distance, and nearby boating conditions. Keep the BoatAtlas window open on screen; location does not update when the app is in the background or the screen is locked.
Location access is blocked. Enable it in your browser or device settings, then try again.

Keep this tab open for guidance. Guidance pauses if the tab is hidden or closed. Screen stays awake while this tab is visible when Wake Lock is available.
Tab hidden: guidance may pause. Return to this BoatAtlas tab to continue, or enable BoatAtlas GPS for background tracking when connected.

BoatAtlas provides location and destination guidance as a planning aid for situational awareness. It does not determine whether any route or condition is navigable. Verify with current official navigational information and evaluate actual conditions. The vessel operator remains responsible for navigation.
